We listen carefully to your goals and objectives, and provide guidance as necessary to ensure your needs are met. Our powerful CAD design system enables us to provide full-scale architectural drawings, as well as full-color 3D renderings of a project, so you can “see” your project before actual construction even begins. We can provide design info over the Internet (e.g., floor plans, elevations, 3D renderings), to facilitate design reviews and feedback–you don’t need to take time off from work to keep the design process moving ahead.
Our Design Agreement warrants that our drawings are suitable for obtaining the building permit and for the construction work to be performed. We design for compliance with the IRC 2006, and our engineer provides any required structural calculations and certifications. We typically prefer to work on a fixed-price basis, based on the scope of work for the design. Our fees are based on actual deliverables (e.g., as-builts, preliminary design, updated design, final design, etc.), with a project schedule to ensure a fast turnaround.
Unlike most designers, we also have extensive construction project management experience. We can provide you with a preliminary construction budget very early in the design process, to ensure the design will meet your budget goals. Similarly, we can construct a detailed project schedule, to enable efficient scheduling of resources (e.g., material ordering, selections, subcontractor scheduling, etc.) and minimal “down time” (i.e., periods of no work, due to poor scheduling).
When it comes to implementing your design, we can recommend a high-quality contractor who matches up well with your project. We work with several contractors throughout Northern Virginia, and we can match your project with the skills and capabilities of one or more high-quality companies.

R&R’s Founder, Ralph Crafts, has several decades of experience in construction, business development and management, sales, consulting, marketing, and high-technology. Crafts’ military background accounts for much of his intense focus on “accomplishing the mission” of taking care of homeowners and clients.
